i cannot tell if i have read that John Hearne book…before i fork out $38 plus a hell more fi shipping, tell me more…a synopsis, if u please….i have read most of his works….however, dese days i have to read a bit to remember whether i have read a book or not….n my W.I. collection is not all up here where i am …still have to go bak n ship some tings

I have read Fevergrass and Candywine Development... But not the checkerboard caper.....Also u have to read Fevergrass first...

Candywine development is about a development off Montego Bay where the Mafia, a Wallstreet financer, and the chinese govermetn were in cohorts to build it as a cover for the transfer of nuclear material to build a hydroen bomb for the chinese... the cia, Jamaican inteligence and the russians were trying to stop it.....

Fevergrass is a black yankee wanted to corner the drugs trade.....and it introduces the main characters...I read it back in the 70's... i found Candywinedevelopment in a seacond hand book store at Hay and Wye... goit it for pennies... will look to see if i can get the Checkerboard caper...

it is a Romp.. but u will enjoy both the style and joy that went into writing it....

It is a Jamaicans Modesty Blaize and James Bond combined.. White Jamaican man and a black Jamaican lady.... are the joint heroines... Moris Cargil is such a michevious write... He wrote deliberately a whole page long paragraph without a fullstop using colons semicolons.....i assume it was Morris Cargil as that is the sort of thing he would do.... I beleive he did a column like that once to prove it...

I would love to see hear the publicity interviews they did for the books....
